Essentials of Coloured Stones
1. Course objective
To give the student background knowledge and understanding of the most popular 9
or 18 coloured gem stones, their properties, common simulants and synthetics.
2. Course outline
Each gem stone topic comprises the following sections:
1. General Information
2. Legend
and Lore
3. History
4. Location
5. Physical properties
6. Durability
7. Synthetics and Simulants
3. Course design
The course is either of 1 day or 2 day duration (9 or 18 gem stones) from 8.00am- 4.00pm. The student will receive a manual
that MUST be studied prior to attending the course. There will be a final evaluation of the students understanding of the
topics covered.

A discount for group training of more than 5 students

5. Certificate
After successfully completing the final evaluation,
the student will receive a certificate of completion from E.G.L.
